2006 = Push #1 through Push #5: five new works, three nights each in Wharf 2. Wharf 2LOUD Push artists have to conform to our Manifesto, our Vow of Clarity. That is, they must keep it simple, foregrounding writing, acting and directing. All tickets will be $10.
Push is all new work, covering a huge range of emotions and styles. Push will be raw. Push will be alive with possibilities. Push will give an audience access to some of the finest new Australian work with some of Australia’s finest practitioners - new artists and old hands - a place to play and a regular forum for work to talk to an audience.
Wharf 2LOUD Push is about creating a context for new work - not just about the next hot young thing - about being cognisant of international developments, national achievement and local talent. Push will identify the leading edge of artistic practice and bring an audience along with it.
